Julie McCartney
My husband, Mike, and I moved to Alaska from Indiana, where I received my degree in Entomology, and taught science. I am currently a science teacher at Wasilla High School. I have two young sons, and have been actively involved in different community theaters for 18 years. Before VPA, I was technical theatre director at Frankfort Senior High in Indiana, and was theatre director at Houston High School for 3 years. I have been with VPA for nearly two years now, and did the light design for Beauty and the Beast and Absurd Person Singular. I have also filled in as House Manager for the last two shows of this past season, and been a member of the Board Development Committee. I am looking forward to continuing as a volunteer for the theatre and will be the executive director for the one acts in Season 32. |

Kathy Sage
My family has lived in Alaska for 10 years and we relocated to Palmer 2 years ago. My husband, Mike, is a local dentist, and we have two daughters, Aubrey and Lindey. I have a degree in Child Development and a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology. I have spent the majority of my career working with deaf children and their families, and have been a teacher, speech therapist, and sign language instructor in California, Colorado, and finally, Alaska. I am currently helping my husband run his dental practice, and am busy chauffeuring my daughters to their hockey and soccer games and practices. My daughters and I were in the production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and I have been a member of the Board Development Committee for VPA. Since both of my daughters seem to have been bit by the “acting bug”, I am looking forward to working with VPA in the future. |

Richard Webb
An educator by both disposition and profession, I am currently President of the Twindly Bridge Charter School APC (Governing) Board, President of the Matsu Charter School Association and an online gaming and simulations consultant. I am also completing my Ph.D. at Capella University in Design for Online Learning. Upon arriving in the 'valley' three years ago, my wife Renee, my daughter Emily and I, discovered two noteworthy things about our new home; it had the friendliest people we had ever encountered and the best community theater. Who would not want to a part of that? |
