

AUDITION INFORMATION
AUDITION DATES: February 19, 2011 – 1 to 4PM
February 20, 2011 – 5 to 7PM
WHERE: Valley Performing Arts
251 West Swanson Avenue in Wasilla
NEEDED: Five men who want to have fun. Age, late 40’s to 60’s. Can possibly age you up or down if necessary so come let us see and hear you.
Three to four women who want to have fun. Age, 20’s to 60’s. Will be used as back up vocals and various roles on stage.
IT’S A MUSICAL: Looking for solo quality vocals in each character as well as capability to harmonize and blend with others in ensemble pieces.
PREPARE: A short song that shows your vocal ability and range. You may sing acappella, bring recorded accompaniment or bring sheet music and an accompanist will be provided. The Music Director may take you through simple vocal exercises and scales.
EXPECT: Cold readings from script. Fun. Easy and fun theater games and improv. Fun. Simple dance routine taught and led by choreographer at auditions. And some more fun.
SYNOPSIS
All of the men grew up together and share a lot of history. The nicknames given were earned in their youth and some have stuck into mature age. They are fairly close in age and are listed below in chronological order.
Don (Brillo)
Husband to “Hot Aging Women’s” Jenny. Family man and good provider. James’ best friend while growing up.
James (Double O)
Brother to “Hot Aging Women’s” Jenny. Did prison time for a non-violent crime. This experience mellowed and strengthened him. Single, never married.
Cort (Stink)
Happily married, successful professor. Champ’s best friend since childhood.
Rodney (Champ)
Former husband to “Hot Aging Women’s” Gertie. A womanizer has had several unsuccessful marriages. Has never quite lived up to his potential.
Aaron (Bullit)
Landscape architect, park and recreational design. Travels a great deal in his profession. One unsuccessful marriage. Has never gotten over the one that got away.
